Animal Planet Website

(1.1) My perfect breed is Collie.

Collies are the Girl Scouts of the canine world — they're intelligent, resourceful, and intensely loyal. So loyal, in fact, that a Collie once traveled from Indiana all the way to Oregon (over 3,000 miles!) to find her family. And if you own a television, this breed probably looks familiar. Timmy's Collie and best friend, Lassie, is one of the most famous dogs in the world.

Originally bred for companionship, herding, and guarding, today many Collies are beloved family dogs. We can't promise yours will save you if you fall down a well, but train her right and your Collie will be a super friend.

With origins in Scotland and Wales, this large-sized and medium-energy breed can grow to between 50-75 pounds and lives an average of 8-12 years. The breed is recognized by the American Kennel Club and classified as a member of the Herding group.

(1.2) Vocabulary Activity

Jogger: Dog that has a lot of energy and uses it running or trotting. (Corredor)
Breed: They are the different types of genetic variability that originate different phenotypes in dogs. (Raza)
To Hunt: dogs trained to catch and kill other animals for sporting purposes. (Cazador)
Watchdog: That a dog is trained to take care of its owners and their home. (Perro Guardian)
Grooming: Dogs that are very clean and concerned with their personal care and lick very frequently. (Acicalarse)
1.1 Affectionate:  Dogs that show the love they feel for their owners very often. (Cariñoso)
1.2 Trainable: When a dog is educated and follows the orders given by its owners.(Entrenado)
1.3 Tricks:  Skills acquire by a dog when being educated.(Trucos)
1.4 Fairly Trainable: When the dog is trained just to follow basic rules.(Entrenado de forma Basica o equitativa.)
1.5 Protective: Dogs that are always concerned about the emotional well-being of their owners. (Protector)

Activity 2: Select 3 Shows.
1.- Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet: I like it because is a Veterinarian who faces differents situations with different species of animals, also all this happens on the mountain, which makes everyting more complex. I think its a good series to see the reality of the profession.

2.-Pit Bulls & Parolees: I really like this program because it touches on a very important issue that is the social reintegration of convicts taking care of and helping in a shelter of a dog breed that is considered dangerous, just like them.
For the same reason it is a great series to see and know cases of people who change their lives with this.

3.-America's Cutest: I like this program because it shows the most adorable and cute animals in North America, and I think there is nothing more beautiful than a puppy or a kitten newborn or small. In general, any baby animal is precious.
I would recommend seeing it only because of how beautiful it is.

My Favorite Thing

My favorite thing is travel to Mexico. I remember that since I knew their culture and landscape I fell in love with that country. When I turned twenty I decide work to travel and get to know my favorite country. In April 2018 I managed to raise the money and travel. It helped me a lot to de-stress and go to concerts of my favorite singer.
I try to go to Mexico once a year to take advantage of the concerts given by José Madero there every time he releases a new album.
I love travel to Mexico because it is a beautiful country with a delicious gastronomy, very friendly people, excellent musicians, great architecture and many tacos.
My life without being able to travel to Mexico would be a sad thing, since there are so many things that I like and I feel that every trip I make fills my soul. It is a great feeling that is worth every effort during the year
I definitely feel that I was born in the wrong country.

Blog Post 2: 4 Opinions

1.-What is your opinion about immigration?

g i
I think that immigration is important for increase the cultural diversity in a country, as well as it help to reduce the racism and xenophobia and help know other reality. I think too that always have to respect a people independently of your country or nacionality because we don´t know when we may need them or their country.

2.- What is your opinion about having an exotic pet at home?

I disagree, because I think that exotic animals shouldn´t be pets, they have a specific habitat and without those special conditions they would not live in a good way. Besides many times exotic animals adquired of ilegal form and it is a crime.

3.-  What is your opinion about recycling?

I agree. I think that recycling is the good option for reduce the contamination in the city or anyone part of country or world. It´s an easy way to be friendly with the planet and teach people to reuse materials like glass, paper, plastic. tins or carton.

4.-What is your opinión about legalization of abortion in the 3 cases?

I completely agree in case of sexual abuse of minors girls or womans, because it wouldn´t be fair to have an unwanted child, as well as childs would remind them of a traumatic episode in their lives. I think that in general abortion should be free and legal for all woman, since it is a totally personal decision.
